More detail

Side tables are one of the most useful and versatile pieces of furniture in the home. Traditionally they were often used to hold food and wine at banquets so they are commonly called wine tables. At other times they would be used as display tables and an occasional writing table.

This excellent example of the side table presents grace and fluid energy.

The unique beaded mouldings outline and feature the framework and they match well with the round legs. The stretchers wrap around the legs, with humpback style. It displays superb craftsmanship, as well as giving a smooth visual impression.

There are triple interlocking circles between the under-top apron and the stretchers. They reinforce the structural strength and symbolise perfection and union in the past, present and future.

Walnut is highly praised by cabinetmakers for its hardness and density which enables the crafting of fine pieces and the lustrous texture of its finish.
