Deakin Anticline III by Roger Beale

Artist Statement

The Deakin Anticline is a heritage listed geological site in Deakin. It is important for teaching geology and geomorphology and offers dramatic opportunities for wandering artists. It also happens to be right outside my front door, so it was a natural to draw during lockdown. These drawings are done with reed and steel nib pens in Indian ink with a wash applied by brush. They are on heavy artist grade paper. They are part of a larger series, not yet complete, of five drawings in total.
