Plum red lacquered stool with wraparound stretchers

Single stool with a variation of the humpback stretcher. Instead of the stretcher inserting flush into the leg the timber is shaped around the leg hiding the tenon. The design is seen more often on stools with round legs. The stool has the same structural strength as square stools and many people prefer the round design. This stool has most of the original plum red lacquer on the legs but through age and use has worn from the seat.
