Artist Statement
The Tharwa Bridge across the Murrumbidgee River was built in 1895 and is made up of four Allan Truss spans. It is the oldest bridge in the ACT and is entered in the ACT Heritage Register. As with other engineering structures I am enthralled by the strict geometry and the way stresses are transferred to the foundations.
